Driveway and patio cleaning in Swanage

I cover Swanage and the Isle of Purbeck around it. That's the town itself, the seafront and old town, Herston, Durlston, and out to Langton Matravers, Worth Matravers, Corfe Castle and Studland. I'll be honest with you, I'm based in Kinson over near Bournemouth, so it's a fair drive over to your part of Swanage. I get there either on the Sandbanks to Studland chain ferry or round the longer road loop through Wareham. It's a part of the world worth covering, so the distance doesn't put me off. Swanage gives me a different sort of work to the towns nearer the coast at home. The other thing about Purbeck is the surfaces and the sea air. There's a lot of Purbeck and Portland stone round here, on patios, paths and walls, and that stone doesn't want a heavy blast. So it gets a soft wash instead. The salt and damp off the sea also bring the green and moss on quicker, especially on anything north-facing or shaded. I match the method to the surface every time, and I decide that from your photos before I turn up, not on the day. If a surface looks like the pressure could damage it, I'll soft wash it or tell you straight rather than risk it.

On a driveway, cleaning is only half the job. Plenty of people will blast it and leave. I don't work like that. I get rid of the muck properly, then re-sand the joints with kiln-dried sand so the blocks lock back together. If you want the colour brought up and the finish protected I can seal it after, but a lot of drives are perfectly happy with a clean and a re-sand, so I won't push it on you. Every clean comes with a weed-free guarantee for 6 to 12 months. Weeds always come back eventually, so I make sure it stays clear for as long as I can. The coastal damp makes that guarantee worth having round here.
